How to make a Safeguarding Complaint for Adults

Safeguarding is about keeping people safe from abuse and harm.

If you are over 18 old and you are being abused, you should talk to someone that you trust about it.

If you are worried that someone who is over 18 years old who has a disability is being abused or neglected, you can contact your local HSE Safeguarding Protection Team.

Safeguarding Protection Teams are made up of social workers who will investigate any safeguarding complaints.

Each area in Ireland has their own local HSE Safeguarding Protection Team. The HSE calls each local area a Community Health Organisation or CHO.

If you do not know which area (CHO) you are in call the National Safeguarding Office and they will tell you.
