How to make a Safeguarding Complaint for a child

Safeguarding is about keeping people safe from abuse and harm.

As a member of the public you should report to Tusla if you have a ‘reasonable concern’ about the welfare of a child.

There are lots of Guidelines about reporting a safeguarding concern about children. These guidelines are called Children First.

Some adults who work with Children and see abuse must report to Tusla by law

If you are worried about a child who may be suffering abuse you should contact TUSLA. There is a contact in each county at this link

You will have to give the child’s name and address, who is abusing the child, and other information

If your complaint involves a possible crime contact your local Garda Station
